Chapter 1 Greetings
Section 1: Daily Greetings
Q 안녕하세요? How do you do?
A 네, 안녕하세요? Good morning/afternoon/evening!
or 안녕하십니까? respectfully (good day!)
or 좋은 아침입니다. good morning
or 안녕히 가세요. good bye!
Used to address a person who is leaving
잘가요. goodbye!
Less formal version of "안녕히 가세요."
안녕히 계세요. goodbye!
Used to address a person who is staying.
또 만나요. see you again!
안녕히 주무세요. goodnight
잘자요. sleep well
* "안녕히 주무세요" and "잘 자요" are used just before going to sleep.
수고하세요. goodbye/thank you/ keep up the good work.
Do and Don't
Because the expression "수고하셨습니다" includes the meaning that the hearer has undergone some sacrifice or effort on the speaker's behalf, and that the speaker is evaluating the actions of the hearer, one should not use it toward one's elders or superiors. Rather, it should be used in place of "Thank-you" in situations such as exiting a taxi or expressing gratitude to a departing worker.
DO: Exiting a taxi use: "수고하세요."
DON'T: Leaving class, say to your teacher: "교수님, 수고하세요."

If I may make a suggestion for the next level: some easy slang, such as:
1. "This tastes so awesome!" - "이 맛 정말 끝네 주네요."
2. "That's lame." - "썰렁해."
3. "Your fly is open." - "남대문이 열렸어요."
