Now that Pastor Hwang has become our associate pastor, we extend our welcome to Mrs. Hwang and all other members present for the first time in our gathering as church. I am so pleased to recognize that many of them resemble Korean celebrities like HyoRi Lee, HaJung Kim, JaeSuk Yoo, even JaeDong Kim.
Since I met you – Pastor & Mrs Hwang and you – 3 weeks ago for the first time, I tried to memorize your name. Now I can tell who is who, to name few, – DongHee Kang, her sister TaeHee Kang, YeJoon Hwang, YeRam Hwang, Jinwoo Chung, HyunHo Kim, and Mr & Mrs. Chung. The reason I memorized your names is to get to know you better – your character and situation– and to share Christian love as family members in the Lord
In 21st Century Baptist church, we-adults and youth and children-are all of a family. We all get along very well though children wouldn’t let me be their friend. I want to be your friend. Again we 21st Century Baptist church welcome Pastor & Mrs Hwang and all those soon to be members.
We have been waiting for a pastor who is to lead and prepare the next generation who would eventually take charge of this congregation. Thanks to God, now we have pastor Hwang who will serve and shepherd young adult and youth, that is, our future. We were so impressed as we read pastor Hwang’s pastoral perspective which we all agree: “The priority in shepherding is not ministry, but people; thus human relationship is the core value. If you succeed in relationship, you succeed in ministry. As important as Success in ministry is, using people as means for success would violate biblical principle.”
As pastor Hwang says, our priority is to edify our loving relationship and ministerial success is simply outcome of keeping such priority. That’s why we as 21st Century Baptist Church will support pastor Hwang to do what he was called to do. Again we wouldn’t let him down, but pray, encourage, and support him as he does minister our future generation.
Finally, I pray and hope that pastor Hwang spend his rest of life here in this church unless God lead him otherwise. When our church was started 8 years ago, pastor Lee had a vision of church where members are committed to stay together until God direct them to go to mission field or plant other churches. He personally invited me to such vision, which I accepted with gladness.
I give thanks and glory to our God who led pastor & Mrs. Hwang to belong to and serve 21st Century Baptist Church. Again welcome pastor & Mrs. Hwang and all others present for the first time with us.
