주의 말씀의 강령은 진리이오니 - 시편 119:160

유감스럽게도 때때로 우리는 성경 말씀을 가지고도 이렇게 합니다. 사람들은 특별히 좋아하는 성경구절들을 선별하고 좋아하지 않은 것들을 무시해버리면서, 자신들이 좋아하는 구절들을 따로 “맞춤화”합니다. 시편기자는 하나님의 말씀을 “주의 말씀의 강령은 진리”(시 119:160)라고 보았습니다. 바울사도도 젊은 목회자 디모데에게 “모든 성경은 하나님의 감동으로 된 것으로…유익하니”(딤후 3:16)라고 말했습니다.
성경말씀은 예수님에게도 중요했습니다(마 5:17-18). 그러나 예수님은 성경말씀을 예수님 당시의 종교지도자들과는 다르게 보았습니다. 예수님은 “이유 없이 형제에게 노하는” 것과 “살인하지 말라”라는 것을 동일한 수준으로 보셨습니다(21-22절). 예수님은 성경말씀을 결코 맞춤화하지 않으셨고, 모든 말씀을 적용함에 있어 사람들 마음의 동기에 더 관심을 가지셨습니다.
우리가 하나님의 말씀을 더 온전히 품을 때, 우리는 하나님을 더 깊이 알게 되며 하나님을 영화롭게 하기를 소망하게 될 것입니다.
주님, 하나님의 말씀을 가볍게 여기거나, 너무 어렵다고 생각하여
대충 지나가지 않기를 원합니다. 나의 마음을 알게 하여 주시고
주님이 나에게 무슨 말씀을 하시든지 마음으로부터 순종할 수 있도록
나를 도와주소서. 예수님의 이름으로 기도합니다. 아멘.

[17] 내가 율법이나 선지자를 폐하러 온 줄로 생각하지 말라 폐하러 온 것이 아니요 완전하게 하려 함이라
[18] 진실로 너희에게 이르노니 천지가 없어지기 전에는 율법의 일점 일획도 결코 없어지지 아니하고 다 이루리라
[19] 그러므로 누구든지 이 계명 중의 지극히 작은 것 하나라도 버리고 또 그같이 사람을 가르치는 자는 천국에서 지극히 작다 일컬음을 받을 것이요 누구든지 이를 행하며 가르치는 자는 천국에서 크다 일컬음을 받으리라

Thumbs Up [ Matthew 5:17 - 5:20 ]
The entirety of Your Word is truth. — Psalm 119:160
Pandora is one of the musical marvels of the Internet age. It helps you create your own personal radio station by allowing you to “customize” your music. It plays a song and you then click a thumbs up or thumbs down sign to indicate whether or not you like it. You end up with a grouping of only songs that you like.
Unfortunately, sometimes we do that with the Bible too. People may choose some Scripture passages they especially like and ignore others, and so they “customize” it to their preferences. The psalmist looked at God’s Word this way: “The entirety of Your Word is truth” (Ps. 119:160). And the apostle Paul told Timothy, a young pastor, “All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable”(2 Tim.3:16).
The Scriptures were important to Jesus(Matt.5:17-18), but He looked at them differently than the religious leaders of His day. To Him, “You shall not murder” was on the level of being “angry with [a] brother without a cause”(vv.21-22). Far from customizing Scripture, He was concerned about the motivation of people’s hearts in applying all of it.
As we embrace God’s Word more fully, we’ll know Him more deeply and desire to honor Him.
Lord, I don’t want to treat Your Word lightly orto dismiss what seems too difficult. Show memy heart and help me to obey from the heartwhatever You tell me. In Jesus’ name, amen.

Matthew 5:17-20
[17] "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.
[18] I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished.
[19] Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
[20] For I tell you that unless your righteousness surpasses that of the Pharisees and the teachers of the law, you will certainly not enter the kingdom of heaven.
