날아다니는 기적 [ 시편 104:10 - 104:24 ]
여호와여 주께서 하신 일이 어찌 그리 많은지요 주께서 지혜로 그들을 다 지으셨으니 주께 가득하니이다 - 시편 104:24
나비는 하나님의 피조물 가운데 가장 아름다운 것 중의 하나입니다. 우아하게 날아가는 모습, 다채로운 색깔의 날개, 그리고 철에 따라 이동하는 놀라운 경로들과 같은 특징들이 나비를 자연계의 걸작으로 손꼽게 만듭니다.
이 날아다니는 곤충은 우리에게 시각적인 즐거움을 주기도 하지만, 또한 하나님의 경이로운 창조사역에 대한 놀라운 예들을 보여주기도 합니다.
예를 들면, 위풍당당한 왕나비는 중미 쪽으로 이동할 때 4,800 킬로미터나 날아갈 때도 있으며, 마침내 1세대나 2세대 전에 그들의 부모나 조부모가 머물렀던 동일한 나무에 도착합니다. 핀 머리 크기의 조그마한 두뇌가 이 여행의 길잡이 역할을 합니다.
또한 왕나비의 탈바꿈을 생각해보십시오. 유충이 번데기가 된 다음, 번데기는 내부가 죽 같이 되어버리는 화학물질을 분비하여 몸 구조가 무슨 부분인지 알아볼 수 없게 됩니다. 그러나 그곳에서 나비의 두뇌, 내장, 머리, 다리, 날개가 나옵니다.
한 나비 전문가는, “유충의 몸이 나비의 몸과 날개로 되어가는 창조과정은 의심할 바 없이 지구상에 있는 생명의 불가사의 중 하나이다.”라고 말했습니다. 다른 전문가는 이와 같은 탈바꿈은 “분명한 기적으로 간주된다.”라고 했습니다.
“여호와여 주께서 하신 일이 어찌 그리 많은지요!”(시 104:24). 나비는 단지 그 중의 하나일 뿐입니다.
하나님, 우리가 즐길 수 있게 하신 경이로운 창조물에 놀랄 뿐입니다.
저 멀리 은하계로부터 아름다운 나비에 이르기까지,
우리를 향한 하나님의 사랑을 소리 높여 외치는 이 세상을 주셨습니다.
하나님, 창조에 감사를 드립니다.
창조물이 만들어진 모습을 보면
그것을 설계하신 분이 계시다는 것을 알 수 있다.
시편 104:10-24
[10] 여호와께서 샘을 골짜기에서 솟아나게 하시고 산 사이에 흐르게 하사
[11] 각종 들짐승에게 마시게 하시니 들나귀들도 해갈하며
[12] 공중의 새들도 그 가에서 깃들이며 나뭇가지 사이에서 지저귀는도다
[13] 그가 그의 누각에서부터 산에 물을 부어 주시니 주께서 하시는 일의 결실이 땅을 만족시켜 주는도다
[14] 그가 가축을 위한 풀과 사람을 위한 채소를 자라게 하시며 땅에서 먹을 것이 나게 하셔서
[15] 사람의 마음을 기쁘게 하는 포도주와 사람의 얼굴을 윤택하게 하는 기름과 사람의 마음을 힘있게 하는 양식을 주셨도다
[16] 여호와의 나무에는 물이 흡족함이여 곧 그가 심으신 레바논 백향목들이로다
[17] 새들이 그 속에 깃들임이여 학은 잣나무로 집을 삼는도다
[18] 높은 산들은 산양을 위함이여 바위는 너구리의 피난처로다
[19] 여호와께서 달로 절기를 정하심이여 해는 그 지는 때를 알도다
[20] 주께서 흑암을 지어 밤이 되게 하시니 삼림의 모든 짐승이 기어나오나이다
[21] 젊은 사자들은 그들의 먹이를 쫓아 부르짖으며 그들의 먹이를 하나님께 구하다가
[22] 해가 돋으면 물러가서 그들의 굴 속에 눕고
[23] 사람은 나와서 일하며 저녁까지 수고하는도다
[24] 여호와여 주께서 하신 일이 어찌 그리 많은지요 주께서 지혜로 그들을 다 지으셨으니 주께서 지으신 것들이 땅에 가득하니이다

A Flying Miracle [ Psalms 104:10 - 104:24 ]
O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions. — Psalm 104:24
Among God’s creatures, the butterfly is one of the most stunningly beautiful! Its gentle flight, colorful wings, and amazing migratory patterns are traits that make the butterfly a masterpiece of the natural world.
This flying insect, while supplying us with visual enjoyment, also supplies us with amazing examples of the marvels of God’s creative work.
For instance, the majestic monarch butterfly can travel 3,000 miles on its migration to Central America—only to end up at the same tree its parents or even grandparents landed on a generation or two earlier. It does this guided by a brain the size of a pinhead.
Or consider the monarch’s metamorphosis. After the caterpillar builds a chrysalis around itself, it releases a chemical that turns its insides to mush—no perceptible parts. Somehow from this emerges the brain, internal parts, head, legs, and wings of a butterfly.
One butterfly expert said, “The creation of the body of a caterpillar into the body and wings of a butterfly is, without doubt, one of the wonders of life on earth.” Another expert feels that this metamorphosis is “rightly regarded as a miracle.”
“How manifold are [God’s] works!”(Ps.104:24)—and the butterfly is but one of them.
We stand amazed, God, at the awesome creation Youallow us to enjoy. From distant galaxies to beautifulbutterflies, You have given us a world that speaks loudlyof Your love for us. Thank You, Lord, for creation.
Creation’s design points to the Master Designer.
Psalm 104:10-24
[10] He makes springs pour water into the ravines; it flows between the mountains.
[11] They give water to all the beasts of the field; the wild donkeys quench their thirst.
[12] The birds of the air nest by the waters; they sing among the branches.
[13] He waters the mountains from his upper chambers; the earth is satisfied by the fruit of his work.
[14] He makes grass grow for the cattle, and plants for man to cultivate--bringing forth food from the earth:
[15] wine that gladdens the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread that sustains his heart.
[16] The trees of the LORD are well watered, the cedars of Lebanon that he planted.
[17] There the birds make their nests; the stork has its home in the pine trees.
[18] The high mountains belong to the wild goats; the crags are a refuge for the coneys.
[19] The moon marks off the seasons, and the sun knows when to go down.
[20] You bring darkness, it becomes night, and all the beasts of the forest prowl.
[21] The lions roar for their prey and seek their food from God.
[22] The sun rises, and they steal away; they return and lie down in their dens.
[23] Then man goes out to his work, to his labor until evening.
[24] How many are your works, O LORD! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.
