피난처 되시는 반석 [ 시편 94:3 - 94:23 ]
여호와는 나의 요새이시요 나의 하나님은 내가 피할 반석이시라 - 시편 94:22
어느 해인가 나는 휴가 중 큰 호수의 물가를 따라 걷고 있었습니다. 돌들이 쌓여있는 곳에 가까이 가보니 바위 사이 구석진 곳에 조그마한 풀 한 포기가 뿌리를 내리고 있는 게 보였습니다. 그 풀은 적당한 양의 햇빛과 수분을 공급받고 있는 듯 했고, 또 보호도 받고 있었습니다. 내리치는 빗줄기와 폭풍도 그 연약한 잎을 손상시키지 못했습니다.
그 한 포기 풀의 안전한 서식장소는 “만세반석 열리니 내가 들어갑니다”라는 귀에 익은 찬송가 가사를 상기시켜 주었습니다. 그 가사는 우리가 교만하고 잔인하며 하나님을 경외하지 않는(시 94:4-7) 악의에 찬 사람들을 만났을 때, 우리 대부분이 바라는 바를 잘 표현해주고 있습니다. 우리가 누군가의 악행의 표적이 되고 있다면, “여호와는 나의 요새이시요 내가 피할 반석이시라”(22절)라고 한 시편기자의 증언을 기억하십시오.
우리의 반석이신 하나님은 우리가 의지할 만한 강한 분이시며, 우리의 피난처이신 하나님은 문제가 다 지나갈 때까지 안전하게 지켜주십니다. 시편기자는 “네가 그의 날개 아래에 피하리로다”(시 91:4)라고 우리를 일깨워줍니다. 하나님이 우리의 보호자 되시기에, 다른 사람들이 우리에게 행할 일들을 두려워할 필요가 없습니다. 어려운 문제들이 생길 때 우리를 도와주시는 하나님을 신뢰하십시오.

주님의 품 안에 숨게 하여 주소서

시편 94:3-23
[3] 여호와여 악인이 언제까지, 악인이 언제까지 개가를 부르리이까
[4] 그들이 마구 지껄이며 오만하게 떠들며 죄악을 행하는 자들이 다 자만하나이다
[5] 여호와여 그들이 주의 백성을 짓밟으며 주의 소유를 곤고하게 하며
[6] 과부와 나그네를 죽이며 고아들을 살해하며
[7] 말하기를 여호와가 보지 못하며 야곱의 하나님이 알아차리지 못하리라 하나이다
[8] 백성 중의 어리석은 자들아 너희는 생각하라 무지한 자들아 너희가 언제나 지혜로울까
[9] 귀를 지으신 이가 듣지 아니하시랴 눈을 만드신 이가 보지 아니하시랴
[10] 뭇 백성을 징벌하시는 이 곧 지식으로 사람을 교훈하시는 이가 징벌하지 아니하시랴
[11] 여호와께서는 사람의 생각이 허무함을 아시느니라
[12] 여호와여 주로부터 징벌을 받으며 주의 법으로 교훈하심을 받는 자가 복이 있나니
[13] 이런 사람에게는 환난의 날을 피하게 하사 악인을 위하여 구덩이를 팔 때까지 평안을 주시리이다
[14] 여호와께서는 자기 백성을 버리지 아니하시며 자기의 소유를 외면하지 아니하시리로다
[15] 심판이 의로 돌아가리니 마음이 정직한 자가 다 따르리로다
[16] 누가 나를 위하여 일어나서 행악자들을 치며 누가 나를 위하여 일어나서 악행하는 자들을 칠까
[17] 여호와께서 내게 도움이 되지 아니하셨더면 내 영혼이 벌써 침묵 속에 잠겼으리로다
[18] 여호와여 나의 발이 미끄러진다고 말할 때에 주의 인자하심이 나를 붙드셨사오며
[19] 내 속에 근심이 많을 때에 주의 위안이 내 영혼을 즐겁게 하시나이다
[20] 율례를 빙자하고 재난을 꾸미는 악한 재판장이 어찌 주와 어울리리이까
[21] 그들이 모여 의인의 영혼을 치려하며 무죄한 자를 정죄하여 피를 흘리려 하나
[22] 여호와는 나의 요새이시요 나의 하나님은 내가 피할 반석이시라
[23] 그들의 죄악을 그들에게로 되돌리시며 그들의 악으로 말미암아 그들을 끊으시리니 여호와 우리 하나님이 그들을 끊으시리로다

Rock Of Refuge [ Psalms 94:3 - 94:23 ]
The LORD has been my defense, and my God the rock of my refuge. — Psalm 94:22
One year during my vacation, I walked along the shoreline of a large lake. As I approached a pile of boulders, I noticed a small alcove between the rocks and observed that a tiny plant had taken root there. The plant appeared to be absorbing the right amount of sunlight and water, and it was also getting something else: protection. No downpour or windstorm would ruffle its tender leaves.
The plant’s secure habitat reminded me of these familiar hymn lyrics: “Rock of Ages, cleft for me, let me hide myself in Thee.” Those words express what many of us want when we encoun-ter people with evil intentions-people characterized by pride, cruelty, and a lack of regard for God (Ps.94:4-7). When we are the target of someone’s wrongdoing, we can remember the testimony of the psalmist: “The Lord has been my defense, and my God the rock of my refuge”(v.22).
As our rock, God is dependable and strong. As our refuge, He can provide safety until problems pass. The psalmist reminds us: “Under His wings you shall take refuge”(Ps.91:4). With God as our defender, we don’t have to fear what others will do. We can trust that God will support us when trouble comes. — Jennifer Benson Schuldt
Thank You, God, for Your stable and unchanging
nature. Help us to hide ourselves in You when
trouble comes our way. Remind us that we
don’t have to fight our own battles.

Psalm 94:3-23
[3] LORD, how long will the wicked, How long will the wicked triumph?
[4] They utter speech, and speak insolent things; All the workers of iniquity boast in themselves.
[5] They break in pieces Your people, O LORD, And afflict Your heritage.
[6] They slay the widow and the stranger, And murder the fatherless.
[7] Yet they say, "The LORD does not see, Nor does the God of Jacob understand."
[8] Understand, you senseless among the people; And you fools, when will you be wise?
[9] He who planted the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?
[10] He who instructs the nations, shall He not correct, He who teaches man knowledge?
[11] The LORD knows the thoughts of man, That they are futile.
[12] Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O LORD, And teach out of Your law,
[13] That You may give him rest from the days of adversity, Until the pit is dug for the wicked.
[14] For the LORD will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance.
[15] But judgment will return to righteousness, And all the upright in heart will follow it.
[16] Who will rise up for me against the evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
[17] Unless the LORD had been my help, My soul would soon have settled in silence.
[18] If I say, "My foot slips," Your mercy, O LORD, will hold me up.
[19] In the multitude of my anxieties within me, Your comforts delight my soul.
[20] Shall the throne of iniquity, which devises evil by law, Have fellowship with You?
[21] They gather together against the life of the righteous, And condemn innocent blood.
[22] But the LORD has been my defense, And my God the rock of my refuge.
[23] He has brought on them their own iniquity, And shall cut them off in their own wickedness; The LORD our God shall cut them off.
