천천히 음미하기 [ 느헤미야 8:1 - 8:12 ] - 찬송가 453장
모든 백성이 곧 가서 먹고 마시며 나누어 주고 크게 즐거워하니 - 느헤미야 8:12
“먹으면서 뛰자”라고 표현되는 빠름을 추구하는 문화 속에서, 친구들과 함께 여유로운 식사를 즐기기 위해 시간을 낼 수 있는 사람은 많지 않습니다. 어떤 사람들은 오늘날 일곱 가지 코스의 음식을 즐기려면 음식 전부를 빵 두 조각 사이에 끼워 넣어 먹는 방법 밖에 없다고까지 말합니다!
바벨론에서 포로생활을 했던 많은 이스라엘 백성들이 성전과 성벽을 다시 세우기 위해 예루살렘으로 돌아온 후, 에스라가 하나님께서 모세를 통해 주신 율법책을 읽는 것을 듣기 위해 모였습니다(느 8:1). 그들 가운데 선생들이 “그 뜻을 해석하여 백성에게 그 낭독하는 것을 다 깨닫게 하니”(8절) 그들은 몇 시간 동안 하나님의 말씀을 들었습니다.
백성들이 자신의 부족함을 깨닫고 슬피 울 때, 에스라는 총독 느헤미야와 함께 그들에게 지금은 슬퍼할 때가 아니요 기뻐할 때라고 말했습니다. 그리고 “여호와로 인하여 기뻐하는 것이 너희의 힘”(10절)이라고 하면서, 백성들에게 잔치를 준비하도록 하고 아무것도 없는 자들에게도 나누어 주라고 하였습니다. 백성들은 이 말에 순종하였습니다. “모든 백성이 곧 가서 먹고 마시며 나누어 주고 크게 즐거워하니 이는 그들이 그 읽어 들려 준 말을 밝히 앎이라”(12절).
하나님께서 말씀으로 준비해주신 영적 만찬은 우리에게 큰 기쁨을 줍니다. 그것은 시간을 두고 천천히 음미할 가치가 있습니다.
주님, 저희에게 주님을 더 알고 싶은 배고픔과 갈증을 주소서.
그것들은 말씀 안에서 주님과 교제하는 시간으로만 채워질 수
있습니다. 우리가 그 시간의 맛을 보게 하시고, 그리함으로써
나날이 주님과 함께하는 사랑 안에서 더 자라가게 하소서.
살아있는 양식되신 그리스도는 살아있는 말씀을 통해
우리의 영적 배고픔을 채워주신다.
느헤미야 8:1-12
[1] 이스라엘 자손이 자기들의 성읍에 거주하였더니 일곱째 달에 이르러 모든 백성이 일제히 수문 앞 광장에 모여 학사 에스라에게 여호와께서 이스라엘에게 명령하신 모세의 율법책을 가져오기를 청하매
[2] 일곱째 달 초하루에 제사장 에스라가 율법책을 가지고 회중 앞 곧 남자나 여자나 알아들을 만한 모든 사람 앞에 이르러
[3] 수문 앞 광장에서 새벽부터 정오까지 남자나 여자나 알아들을 만한 모든 사람 앞에서 읽으매 뭇 백성이 그 율법책에 귀를 기울였는데
[4] 그 때에 학사 에스라가 특별히 지은 나무 강단에 서고 그의 곁 오른쪽에 선 자는 맛디댜와 스마와 아나야와 우리야와 힐기야와 마아세야요 그의 왼쪽에 선 자는 브다야와 미사엘과 말기야와 하숨과 하스밧다나와 스가랴와 므술람이라
[5] 에스라가 모든 백성 위에 서서 그들 목전에 책을 펴니 책을 펼 때에 모든 백성이 일어서니라
[6] 에스라가 위대하신 하나님 여호와를 송축하매 모든 백성이 손을 들고 아멘 아멘 하고 응답하고 몸을 굽혀 얼굴을 땅에 대고 여호와께 경배하니라
[7] 예수아와 바니와 세레뱌와 야민과 악굽과 사브대와 호디야와 마아세야와 그리다와 아사랴와 요사밧과 하난과 블라야와 레위 사람들은 백성이 제자리에 서 있는 동안 그들에게 율법을 깨닫게 하였는데
[8] 하나님의 율법책을 낭독하고 그 뜻을 해석하여 백성에게 그 낭독하는 것을 다 깨닫게 하니
[9] 백성이 율법의 말씀을 듣고 다 우는지라 총독 느헤미야와 제사장 겸 학사 에스라와 백성을 가르치는 레위 사람들이 모든 백성에게 이르기를 오늘은 너희 하나님 여호와의 성일이니 슬퍼하지 말며 울지 말라 하고
[10] 느헤미야가 또 그들에게 이르기를 너희는 가서 살진 것을 먹고 단 것을 마시되 준비하지 못한 자에게는 나누어 주라 이 날은 우리 주의 성일이니 근심하지 말라 여호와로 인하여 기뻐하는 것이 너희의 힘이니라 하고
[11] 레위 사람들도 모든 백성을 정숙하게 하여 이르기를 오늘은 성일이니 마땅히 조용하고 근심하지 말라 하니
[12] 모든 백성이 곧 가서 먹고 마시며 나누어 주고 크게 즐거워하니 이는 그들이 그 읽어 들려 준 말을 밝히 앎이라

Savor The Flavor [ Nehemiah 8:1 - 8:12 ] - hymn453
All the people went their way to eat and drink ... and rejoice greatly. — Nehemiah 8:12
In a fast-paced culture of “eat and run,” few people make time to enjoy a leisurely meal in the company of friends. Someone has even remarked that the only way to enjoy a seven-course meal today is to get it all between two pieces of bread!
After many of the Israelite exiles in Babylon returned to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple and the walls of the city, they gathered to hear Ezra read from the Book of the Law given by God through Moses (Neh. 8:1). They listened to God’s Word for hours, while teachers among them “gave the sense, and helped them to understand the reading” (v.8).
When they wept because of their shortcomings, Ezra, along with Nehemiah the governor, told them this was not a time for sorrow but a time for rejoicing. The people were told to prepare a feast and share it with those who had nothing, “for the joy of the Lord is your strength” (v.10). Then “all the people went their way to eat and drink, to send portions and rejoice greatly, because they understood the words that were declared to them” (v.12).
The spiritual banquet God has prepared for us in His Word is a cause for great joy. It is worth taking time to savor.
Lord, give us a hunger and a thirst to know You morethat can be satisfied only by time spent with You in YourWord. Help us to savor that time and, as we do,to grow more in love with You each day.
Christ the Living Bread satisfies our spiritual hunger through the Living Word.
Nehemiah 8:1-12
[1] all the people assembled as one man in the square before the Water Gate. They told Ezra the scribe to bring out the Book of the Law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded for Israel.
[2] So on the first day of the seventh month Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly, which was made up of men and women and all who were able to understand.
[3] He read it aloud from daybreak till noon as he faced the square before the Water Gate in the presence of the men, women and others who could understand. And all the people listened attentively to the Book of the Law.
[4] Ezra the scribe stood on a high wooden platform built for the occasion. Beside him on his right stood Mattithiah, Shema, Anaiah, Uriah, Hilkiah and Maaseiah; and on his left were Pedaiah, Mishael, Malkijah, Hashum, Hashbaddanah, Zechariah and Meshullam.
[5] Ezra opened the book. All the people could see him because he was standing above them; and as he opened it, the people all stood up.
[6] Ezra praised the LORD, the great God; and all the people lifted their hands and responded, "Amen! Amen!" Then they bowed down and worshiped the LORD with their faces to the ground.
[7] The Levites--Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan and Pelaiah--instructed the people in the Law while the people were standing there.
[8] They read from the Book of the Law of God, making it clear and giving the meaning so that the people could understand what was being read.
[9] Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to them all, "This day is sacred to the LORD your God. Do not mourn or weep." For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law.
[10] Nehemiah said, "Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength."
[11] The Levites calmed all the people, saying, "Be still, for this is a sacred day. Do not grieve."
[12] Then all the people went away to eat and drink, to send portions of food and to celebrate with great joy, because they now understood the words that had been made known to them.

"하나님의 말씀에 의지하지 않고는 하루를 살 수가 없어요."
엊그제 오랜 믿음의 친구와 교제를 나누었는데 그가 고백한 간증입니다.
오늘 말씀을 보니 하나님의 백성 이스라엘이 하나님의 말씀을 들었을 때 그 거룩하심 앞에 엎드러질수밖에 없었습니다. 또한 말씀을 통해서 감동을 받고 회개하며 울었습니다.
“여호와로 인하여 기뻐하는 것이 너희의 힘”이라고 지도자 느헤미야가 백성들에게 권면합니다.
그들에게 먹을 것을 주고 잔치를 벌립니다. 주님을 모신 공동체의 아름다운 모습입니다.
하나님의 말씀이 살았고 운동력이 있는 증거입니다.
하나님의 백성에게 그러합니다.
사도행전에 보면 제자들을 통해서 전해지는 말씀으로 인하여 많은 이들이 회개하고 주님께 돌아왔습니다. 그들은 날마다 모이기를 힘쓰며 말씀을 듣고 함께 음식을 먹으며 구원의 은혜를 찬양하였습니다.
오늘은 주님의 날입니다.
주님의 말씀을 듣고 그 앞에 엎드려 마음으로 감동 받고 회개하고 그리고 우리 모두 함께 음식을 먹으면서 주님께서 부활하심을 기념하는 축제이며 잔치가 되기를 바랍니다.
성령님과 더불어 즐거워함으로 새힘을 얻는 날이 되기를 기도합니다.
우리 주님을 찬양합니다. 할렐루야 !!!!
