21 이 보석들은 이스라엘 아들들의 이름대로 열둘이라 보석마다 열두 지파의 한 이름씩 도장을 새기는 법으로 새기고
22 순금으로 노끈처럼 땋은 사슬을 흉패 위에 붙이고
23 또 금 고리 둘을 만들어 흉패 위 곧 흉패 두 끝에 그 두 고리를 달고
24 땋은 두 금 사슬로 흉패 두 끝 두 고리에 꿰어 매고
25 두 땋은 사슬의 다른 두 끝을 에봇 앞 두 어깨받이의 금 테에 매고
26 또 금 고리 둘을 만들어 흉패 아래 양쪽 가 안쪽 곧 에봇에 닿은 곳에 달고
27 또 금 고리 둘을 만들어 에봇 앞 두 어깨받이 아래 매는 자리 가까운 쪽 곧 정교하게 짠 띠 위쪽에 달고
28 청색 끈으로 흉패 고리와 에봇 고리에 꿰어 흉패로 정교하게 짠 에봇 띠 위에 붙여 떨어지지 않게 하라
29 아론이 성소에 들어갈 때에는 이스라엘 아들들의 이름을 기록한 이 판결 흉패를 가슴에 붙여 여호와 앞에 영원한 기념을 삼을 것이니라
30 너는 3)우림과 4)둠밈을 판결 흉패 안에 넣어 아론이 여호와 앞에 들어갈 때에 그의 가슴에 붙이게 하라 아론은 여호와 앞에서 이스라엘 자손의 흉패를 항상 그의 가슴에 붙일지니라
제사장의 또 다른 옷(출 39:22-31)
31 너는 에봇 받침 겉옷을 전부 청색으로 하되
32 두 어깨 사이에 머리 들어갈 구멍을 내고 그 주위에 갑옷 깃 같이 깃을 짜서 찢어지지 않게 하고
33 그 옷 가장자리로 돌아가며 청색 자색 홍색 실로 석류를 수 놓고 금 방울을 간격을 두어 달되
34 그 옷 가장자리로 돌아가며 한 금 방울, 한 석류, 한 금 방울, 한 석류가 있게 하라
35 아론이 입고 여호와를 섬기러 성소에 들어갈 때와 성소에서 나올 때에 그 소리가 들릴 것이라 그리하면 그가 죽지 아니하리라
36 너는 또 순금으로 패를 만들어 도장을 새기는 법으로 그 위에 새기되 '여호와께 성결'이라 하고
37 그 패를 청색 끈으로 관 위에 매되 곧 관 전면에 있게 하라
38 이 패를 아론의 이마에 두어 그가 이스라엘 자손이 거룩하게 드리는 성물과 관련된 죄책을 담당하게 하라 그 패가 아론의 이마에 늘 있으므로 그 성물을 여호와께서 받으시게 되리라
39 너는 가는 베 실로 반포 속옷을 짜고 가는 베 실로 관을 만들고 띠를 수 놓아 만들지니라
40 너는 아론의 아들들을 위하여 속옷을 만들며 그들을 위하여 띠를 만들며 그들을 위하여 관을 만들어 영화롭고 아름답게 하되
41 너는 그것들로 네 형 아론과 그와 함께 한 그의 아들들에게 입히고 그들에게 기름을 부어 위임하고 거룩하게 하여 그들이 제사장 직분을 내게 행하게 할지며
42 또 그들을 위하여 베로 속바지를 만들어 허리에서부터 두 넓적다리까지 이르게 하여 하체를 가리게 하라
43 아론과 그의 아들들이 회막에 들어갈 때에나 제단에 가까이 하여 거룩한 곳에서 섬길 때에 그것들을 입어야 죄를 짊어진 채 죽지 아니하리니 그와 그의 후손이 영원히 지킬 규례니라
The Breastpiece
15 “You are to make an embroidered breastpiece for making decisions.[f] Make it with the same workmanship as the ephod; make it of gold, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and of finely spun linen. 16 It must be square and folded double, nine inches long and nine inches wide.[g] 17 Place a setting of gemstones[h] on it, four rows of stones:
The first row should be
a row of carnelian, topaz, and emerald;[i]
18 the second row,
a turquoise,[j] a sapphire,[k] and a diamond;[l]
19 the third row,
a jacinth,[m] an agate, and an amethyst;
20 and the fourth row,
a beryl, an onyx, and a jasper.
They should be adorned with gold filigree in their settings. 21 The 12 stones are to correspond to the names of Israel’s sons. Each stone must be engraved like a seal, with one of the names of the 12 tribes.
22 “You are to make braided chains[n] of pure gold cord work for the breastpiece. 23 Fashion two gold rings for the breastpiece and attach them to its two corners. 24 Then attach the two gold cords to the two gold rings at the corners of the breastpiece. 25 Attach the other ends of the two cords to the two filigree settings, and in this way attach them to the ephod’s shoulder pieces in the front. 26 Make two other gold rings and put them at the two other corners of the breastpiece on the edge that is next to the inner border of the ephod. 27 Make two more gold rings and attach them to the bottom of the ephod’s two shoulder pieces on its front, close to its seam,[o] and above the ephod’s woven waistband. 28 The craftsmen are to tie the breastpiece from its rings to the rings of the ephod with a cord of blue yarn, so that the breastpiece is above the ephod’s waistband and does not come loose from the ephod.
29 “Whenever he enters the sanctuary, Aaron is to carry the names of Israel’s sons over his heart on the breastpiece for decisions, as a continual reminder before the Lord. 30 Place the Urim and Thummim in the breastpiece for decisions, so that they will also be over Aaron’s heart whenever he comes before the Lord. Aaron will continually carry the means of decisions for the Israelites over his heart before the Lord.
The Robe
31 “You are to make the robe of the ephod entirely of blue yarn. 32 There should be an opening at its top in the center of it. Around the opening, there should be a woven collar with an opening like that of body armor[p] so that it does not tear. 33 Make pomegranates of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn[q] on its lower hem and all around it. Put gold bells between them all the way around, 34 so that gold bells and pomegranates alternate around the lower hem of the robe. 35 The robe must be worn by Aaron whenever he ministers, and its sound will be heard when he enters the sanctuary before the Lord and when he exits, so that he does not die.
The Turban
36 “You are to make a pure gold medallion and engrave it, like the engraving of a seal:
HOLY TO THE LORD.
37 Fasten it to a cord of blue yarn so it can be placed on the turban; the medallion is to be on the front of the turban. 38 It will be on Aaron’s forehead so that Aaron may bear the guilt connected with the holy offerings that the Israelites consecrate as all their holy gifts. It is always to be on his forehead, so that they may find acceptance with the Lord.
Other Priestly Garments
39 “You are to weave the tunic from fine linen, make a turban of fine linen, and make an embroidered sash. 40 Make tunics, sashes, and headbands for Aaron’s sons to give them glory and beauty. 41 Put these on your brother Aaron and his sons; then anoint, ordain,[r] and consecrate them, so that they may serve Me as priests. 42 Make them linen undergarments to cover their naked bodies; they must extend from the waist[s] to the thighs. 43 These must be worn by Aaron and his sons whenever they enter the tent of meeting or approach the altar to minister in the sanctuary area, so that they do not incur guilt and die. This is to be a permanent statute for Aaron and for his future descendants.
