온 몸이...연결되고 결합되어...그 몸을 자라게 하며 사랑 안에서 스스로 세우느니라 - 에베소서 4:16
오랫동안 과학자들은 불개미의 몸체가 물보다 밀도가 더 높은데도 불구하고, 어떻게 홍수에 죽지 않고 살아남는지 의아하게 생각해왔습니다. 어떻게 개미집단이 몇 주일씩 물에 뜰 수 있는 구명보트처럼 몸을 밀착 시킬 수 있었을까요? 로스앤젤레스 타임스의 기사에 따르면, 조지아 공과 대학 엔지니어들이 불개미의 몸에 있는 아주 작은 털들이 공기방울들을 붙잡아두고 있음을 발견했다고 합니다. “물속에서 개별적으로는 버둥거리고 몸부림치는” 수천 마리의 개미들이 서로 연결되어 붙들고 있을 때 홍수에서도 살아 남을 수 있는 것입니다.

신약성경은 우리가 살아남고 또 영적으로 성장하기 위해 그리스도를 좇는 다른 사람들과 서로 연결될 필요가 있음을 자주 말합니다. 에베소서 4장에서 바울은 “이는 우리가 이제부터 어린아이가 되지 아니하여 사람의 속임수와 간사한 유혹에 빠져 온갖 교훈의 풍조에 밀려 요동하지 않게 하려함이라”라고 쓴 후, 덧붙여서 “오직 사랑 안에서 참된 것을 하여 범사에 그에게까지 자랄지라 그는 머리니 곧 그리스도라 그에게서 온 몸이 각 마디를 통하여 도움을 받음으로 연결되고 결합되어 각 지체의 분량대로 역사하여 그 몸을 자라게 하며 사랑 안에서 스스로 세우느니라”(14-16절)라고 썼습니다.

홀로 있으면 가라앉지만, 주님 안에서 서로 붙들고 성장해간다면우리는 어떤 폭풍우도 벗어날 수 있습니다.

함께 붙어있도록 합시다!
  
    
인생을 뒤흔드는 폭풍 피할 길 없어도
이리저리 옮겨가며 우리는 살아남으리
어려운 일 만날 때 우리 서로 붙어있으면
하나님의 능력으로 승리를 보게 되리
 
 
 
그리스도인들은 함께 있으면 강해진다.
  
에베소서 4:1-16

[1] 그러므로 주 안에서 갇힌 내가 너희를 권하노니 너희가 부르심을 입은 부름에 합당하게 행하여
[2] 모든 겸손과 온유로 하고 오래 참음으로 사랑 가운데서 서로 용납하고
[3] 평안의 매는 줄로 성령의 하나 되게 하신 것을 힘써 지키라
[4] 몸이 하나이요 성령이 하나이니 이와 같이 너희가 부르심의 한 소망 안에서 부르심을 입었느니라
[5] 주도 하나이요 믿음도 하나이요 침례도 하나이요
[6] 하나님도 하나이시니 곧 만유의 아버지시라 만유 위에 계시고 만유를 통일하시고 만유 가운데 계시도다
[7] 우리 각 사람에게 그리스도의 선물의 분량대로 은혜를 주셨나니
[8] 그러므로 이르기를 그가 위로 올라가실 때에 사로잡힌 자를 사로잡고 사람들에게 선물을 주셨다 하였도다
[9] 올라가셨다 하였은즉 땅 아랫 곳으로 내리셨던 것이 아니면 무엇이냐
[10] 내리셨던 그가 곧 모든 하늘 위에 오르신 자니 이는 만물을 충만케 하려 하심이니라
[11] 그가 혹은 사도로, 혹은 선지자로, 혹은 복음 전하는 자로, 혹은 목사와 교사로 주셨으니
[12] 이는 성도를 온전케 하며 봉사의 일을 하게 하며 그리스도의 몸을 세우려 하심이라
[13] 우리가 다 하나님의 아들을 믿는 것과 아는 일에 하나가 되어 온전한 사람을 이루어 그리스도의 장성한 분량이 충만한 데까지 이르리니
[14] 이는 우리가 이제부터 어린 아이가 되지 아니하여 사람의 궤술과 간사한 유혹에 빠져 모든 교훈의 풍조에 밀려 요동치 않게 하려 함이라
[15] 오직 사랑 안에서 참된 것을 하여 범사에 그에게까지 자랄지라 그는 머리니 곧 그리스도라
[16] 그에게서 온 몸이 각 마디를 통하여 도움을 입음으로 연락하고 상합하여 각 지체의 분량대로 역사하여 그 몸을 자라게 하며 사랑 안에서 스스로 세우느니라

STICK TOGETHER

The whole body, joined and knit together..., causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love. - Ephesians 4:16
For years, scientists have wondered how fire ants, whose bodies are denser than water, can survive floods that should destroy them. How do entire colonies form themselves into life rafts that can float for weeks? A Los Angeles Times article explained that engineers from the Georgia Insti-tute of Technology discovered that tiny hairs on the ants’ bodies trap air bubbles. This enables thousands of the insects, “which flounder and struggle in the water as individuals,” to ride out the flood when they cling together.

The New Testament speaks often of our need to be connected to other fol-lowers of Christ in order to survive and grow spiritually. In Ephesians 4, Paul wrote, “We should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine.” He added, “But, speaking the truth in love, may [we] grow up in all things into Him who is the head- Christ-from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love”(vv.14-16).

Alone, we sink; but clinging and growing together in the Lord, we can ride out every storm.

Ephesians 4:1-16

[1] I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called,
[2] with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,
[3] endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
[4] There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling;
[5] one Lord, one faith, one baptism;
[6] one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
[7] But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift.
[8] Therefore He says： "When He ascended on high, He led captivity captive, And gave gifts to men."
[9] (Now this, "He ascended"--what does it mean but that He also first descended into the lower parts of the earth?
[10] He who descended is also the One who ascended far above all the heavens, that He might fill all things.)
[11] And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers,
[12] for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ,
[13] till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
[14] that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of men, in the cunning craftiness of deceitful plotting,
[15] but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into Him who is the head--Christ--
[16] from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.
