"하나님을 경외하라" 전도서 12:1-14 2022년 12월 18일 (주)
본문
1 젊을 때에 너는 너의 창조주를 기억하여라. 고생스러운 날들이 오고, 사는 것이 즐겁지 않다고 할 나이가 되기 전에,
2 해와 빛과 달과 별들이 어두워지기 전에, 먹구름이 곧 비를 몰고 오기 전에, 그렇게 하여라.
3 그 때가 되면, 너를 보호하는 팔이 떨리고, 정정하던 두 다리가 약해지고, 이는 빠져서 씹지도 못하고, 눈은 침침해져서 보는 것마저 힘겹고,
4 귀는 먹어 바깥에서 나는 소리도 못 듣고, 맷돌질 소리도 희미해지고, 새들이 지저귀는 노랫소리도 하나도 들리지 않을 것이다.
5 높은 곳에는 무서워서 올라가지도 못하고, 넘어질세라 걷는 것마저도 무서워질 것이다. 검은 머리가 파뿌리가 되고, 원기가 떨어져서 보약을 먹어도 효력이 없을 것이다. 사람이 영원히 쉴 곳으로 가는 날, 길거리에는 조객들이 오간다.
6 은사슬이 1)끊어지고, 금그릇이 부서지고, 샘에서 물 뜨는 물동이가 깨지고, 우물에서 도르래가 부숴지기 전에, 네 창조주를 기억하여라.
7 육체가 원래 왔던 흙으로 돌아가고, 숨이 그것을 주신 하나님께로 돌아가기 전에, 네 창조주를 기억하여라.
8 2)전도자가 말한다. 헛되고 헛되다. 모든 것이 헛되다.
결론
9 전도자는 지혜로운 사람이기에, 백성에게 자기가 아는 지식을 가르쳤다. 그는 많은 잠언을 찾아내서, 연구하고 정리하였다.
10 전도자는 기쁨을 주는 말을 찾으려고 힘썼으며, 참되게 사는 길을 가르치는 말을 찾으면 그것을 바르게 적어 놓았다.
11 지혜로운 사람의 말은 찌르는 채찍 같고, 수집된 잠언은 잘 박힌 못과 같다. 이 모든 것은 모두 한 목자가 준 것이다.
12 한 마디만 더 하마. 나의 자녀들아, 조심하여라. 책은 아무리 읽어도 끝이 없고, 공부만 하는 것은 몸을 피곤하게 한다.
13 할 말은 다 하였다. 결론은 이것이다. "하나님을 두려워하여라. 그분이 주신 계명을 지켜라. 이것이 바로 사람이 해야 할 의무다."
14 하나님은 모든 행위를 심판하신다. 선한 것이든 악한 것이든 모든 은밀한 일을 다 심판하신다.
12:1 Remember your Creator in the days of your youth, before the days of trouble come and the years approach when you will say, “I find no pleasure in them”—
2 before the sun and the light and the moon and the stars grow dark, and the clouds return after the rain;
3 when the keepers of the house tremble, and the strong men stoop, when the grinders cease because they are few, and those looking through the windows grow dim;
4 when the doors to the street are closed and the sound of grinding fades; when people rise up at the sound of birds, but all their songs grow faint;
5 when people are afraid of heights and of dangers in the streets; when the almond tree blossoms and the grasshopper drags itself along and desire no longer is stirred. Then people go to their eternal home and mourners go about the streets.
6 Remember him—before the silver cord is severed, and the golden bowl is broken; before the pitcher is shattered at the spring, and the wheel broken at the well,
7 and the dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
8 “Meaningless! Meaningless!” says the Teacher. “Everything is meaningless!”
The Conclusion of the Matter
9 Not only was the Teacher wise, but he also imparted knowledge to the people. He pondered and searched out and set in order many proverbs. 10 The Teacher searched to find just the right words, and what he wrote was upright and true.
11 The words of the wise are like goads, their collected sayings like firmly embedded nails—given by one shepherd. 12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body.
13 Now all has been heard; here is the conclusion of the matter: Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the duty of all mankind.
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment, including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.
