Titanic stars donate to final survivor

Leonardo Dicaprio and Kate Winslet have donated $30,000 to support the last survivor of the Titanic in her last years. The survivor, 97-year-old Millvina Dean, has resorted to selling her autograph to pay her nursing home bills in Southampton, the English city from which Titanic began its fateful maiden voyage in 1912. Dean was only 9 weeks old when her family traveled on Titanic in hopes of beginning a new life in the U.S. Her father was one of the 1,517 casualties after the supposedly unsinkable ship hit an iceberg in the Atlantic.

'타이타닉' 출연 배우 마지막 생존자에 기부

배우 리오나르도 디카프리오와 케이트 윈슬렛이 작년에 타이타닉호에 탑승했던 마지막 생존자를 돕기 위해 3만 달러를 기부했다. 이 생존자는 97세의 밀비나 딘. 지난 1912년 비운의 타이타닉호가 최초의 항해를 시작했던 영국 도시인 사우스햄튼에 있는, 양로원 비용을 마련하기 위해 그녀는 자신의 사인을 팔아 생활해 왔던 것으로 알려졌다. 미국에서의 새 삶을 위해 가족과 함께 타이타닉호에 탑승했을 때 밀비나 딘은 고작 9주 박에 안된 영아였다. 가라앉을리 없던 타이타닉과 대서양 빙산과 부딪히면서 1,517명의 사망자가 발생했는데, 밀비나 딘의 아버지도 그 중 한 명이었다.

Cash flies out ot convertible on motorway

A man lost 23,000 euros(≒ $ 31,180) to the wind when an envelope with the money he had stuck in the passenger seat pocket of his convertible blew away during a test drive in northern Germany. The cash fluttered across the motorway in the midst of speeding traffic near the city of Hanover. The man, 23, contracted police immediately, who then blocked the motorway in both directions for nearly half an hour. Eight police officers assisted the man in retrieving his notes and were able to recover 20,000 euros.

독일 북부에서는 한 남성(23)이 바람에 23,000유로(≒ 31,180 달러)를 날려 버렸다. 컨버터블을 시운전하다 조수석 주머니에 넣어 둔 돈 봉투가 바람에 날아간 것. 하노버 시 근교 고속도로를 빠르게 달리던 차량들 사이로 지폐가 펄럭이며 날아가자 이 운전자는 즉시 경찰에 신고했고, 약 30분간 고속도로 양 방향이 모두 통제되었다. 여덟명의 경찰이 도와 지폐를 거두어들여 20,000유로는 되찾을 수 있었다고.
