Talk about the city of Gongju.



Gonju is a city in South Chungcheong Province that used to be the capital of the ancient Baekjae dynasty. The capital later moved, but Gonju remained a significant venue until the dynasty’s end. The Geum River runs through this quiet, quaint, little city. The small-town life in the city in the city can be quite charming. You can enjoy a breathtaking view set against the Geum River and mysterious temples. One of the most popular sights to see is the ancient fotress, Gongsangseong. Here you can see both and mud and stone castles. Other attractions are the tombs of King Mu-ryeong of the Baekjae dynasty. There’s also the Gongju Traditional Koran Folk Village where you can enjoy a nice hike up Mt. Gye-ryong. If you time your visit right, you can check out the Jeong-an Chestnut Festival. Here you can taste some of the yummiest chestnuts Korea has to offer.
