The number of social networking site (SNS) users in Korea is on the sharp rise. This is in line with the social networking site craze that’s taken over the entire world. In 2010, a report estimated that one out of every 14 people in the world were social networking site users. In Korea alone, there 24 million SNS users reported in July of 2010. Social networking sites are not just something that’s in with the younger generation, either. More and more older people are following in the footsteps of their younger counterparts. Among the popular social networking sites in Korea are Cyworld, Twitter, and Facebook. However, many other SNS sites are slowly gaining ground with more users signing up every month.
