Some of the most notable Korean MLB players are Park Chan-ho and Choo Shin-soo. Park Chan-ho made history when he became the first South Korean player in the Major Leagues in 1994. He first player for the Lost Angeles Dodgers, but today is signed under the Pittsburgh Pirates. With 124 wins under his belt, Park was named the Asian pitcher with the most wins in MLB history in October of 2010. As for Choo Shin-soo, he first debuted in the Major Leagues in 2005 for the Seattle Mariners. Choo currently is an outfielder for the Cleveland Indians. Choo was the first Asian to join the 20-20 club, first in 2009 and again the following year. This has secured his spot as one of the best batters on his team. As the Korean baseball team won the gold in the 2010 Asian games, Choo doesn’t have to serve in the military. This has given him an extra boost in his baseball career.
