Topic - Identity theft is becoming a serious social problem these days. What can we do in our daily lives to prevent the leakage of personal information?
It's nerve-racking to think what could happen if someone got my personal information and decided to use it criminally. But in this digital era, we always hear of personal information being leaked or hacked on a massive scale. A case in point was an incident that occurred at a Korean version of eBay, called Auction. The personal information of as many as 10 million users was illegally hacked by a hacker in China. Due to these unfortunate incidents, I always try to be extra-careful to keep my bases covered. First, I never store authorization codes or credit card numbers on publicly-shared computers. Plus, I also change my passwords for various online accounts once in a while. Also, speaking of hacking, I never sign up on suspicious websites that may install spy-ware or mal-ware on my PC.

Bill to protect pedestrians from hybrid cars
A bill will soon be introduced in U.S. Congress to protect blind people and other pedestrians from the dangers posed by quiet cars. A study recently found that hybrid cars operating at slow speeds must be 40 percent closer to pedestrians than regular vehicles before they make enough noise for their location to be detected. The bill, if passed, would require the Department of Transportation to establish safety standards for hybrids and other vehicles that make little discernible noise, including an audible means for alerting people that cars are nearby. Automakers would then have two years to comply.
