Man makes record catch with Barbie fishing rod
David Hayes was fishing with his granddaughter in a pond behind his house when she asked him to hold her pink Barbie fishing rod while she want to the bathroom. Hayes took the fishing rod and seconds later the toy hooked a North Carolina state-record channel catfish, at 21 pounds, 1 ounce. He hung on to the fish for about a half-hour, and the catfish finally gave up, allowing Hayes to scoop the fish into a net.
