Sumi has Cody and Dawn over for lunch
• Thanks for having me and Dawn over for lunch, Sumi.
• No problem. So, would you guys like chicken with mashed potatoes and corn?
• Jeez! I didn't expect you to go all out for us.
• Relax. I'm not making anything from scratch. It's just a TV dinner,
so I just got to nuke it in the microwave.
• Ah. Yes, that sounds good, thanks. Here, we brought some dessert.
• Oh, thank you! You guys didn't have to do this.
• No problem. Hey, I wanted to ask you something. Do you want to go on a blind date with a friend of mine?
• If he's cute, sure, I'm up for it.
Taking a peak at world around us with headline news
American scientist James Galloway has won this year's Tyler Prize for environmental achievement.
Galloway began his career by studying acid rain, which is caused by sulfur and nitrogen compounds that are converted into acids in the atmosphere. He says the form of nitrogen that reacts with other elements is increasing in the environment because of nitrogen-rich fertilizers and the burning of fossil fuels. The nitrogen cascades through ecosystems, accumulation in rivers, causing a buildup of ozone in the lower atmosphere, leading to acid rain and coastal dead zones, contributing to buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere and depleting protective ozone in the stratosphere.

Topic - Please tell us something about Korea.
A lot of foreigners only know about Korea by its tragic division into north and south from the Korean War in the early 1950s. However, South Korea made a remarkable comeback with its rapid economic growth in the decades following the war. Today, many major Korean manufacturers export a wide range of goods all over the world, ranging from ships, cars, semiconductors, to cell phones. The country has also built a name for itself as an IT powerhouse through its remarkable advancements in that sector. Korea's hosing of the 1988 Summer Olympics and the 2002 FIFA World Cup also helped to enhance the nation's reputation. Meanwhile, when it comes to nationality, Koreans are known to be hard-working, passionate, and eager to get higher education.
Expression of the day
Let's get going.
A: It's seven-thirty already. We'd better hurry.
B: You're right. We have a lot of ground to cover today.
A: Okay, let's get going.
B: I'll tell the guys we're leaving now.
